It's time for Africa's leaders to address the problems that hinder the development of the continent's natural resources. Africa Since Independence is an analytical piece by Colin Legum, which deals with four major themes in the realm of Africa's independence. The book itself has it's origins in a series of lectures which the author conducted in 1997at the Indiana university in Bloomington. The author believes Africa has experienced three major phases in its "learning cycle" since the time of independence. The years from 1939-1970, Africa was engulfed in the romantic period, a time in which the dream of liberation was on the minds of most Africans. The second phase "disillusionment," was clustered in the years from 1970-1985. The Nonprofit Brand IDEA emerged from the distinctive sources of pride that nonprofit leaders expressed in what they do—pride in the social mission, participatory processes, shared values, and key partnerships—and from the distinctive role that they said brand plays to create greater cohesion inside their organizations. We developed this framework to capture the most striking things we heard in our interviews, but we’ve found that it also gives nonprofit leaders a vocabulary with which to manage in the new brand paradigm. Before we explain the framework in more detail, it is important to be clear about what we mean by brand and how the use of brand is evolving.   FORCE CALL TO ACTION Corporations used to pay almost one-third of federal taxes. Now it's one-thirteen. Modern History Did you ever get into that position when someone was making decisions for you? A person would make a decision without telling you or caring about your opinions. If you ever felt that you know what are the results of careless abuse of power and situation. Well you can say that is what happened to the British Colonies. Taxes and acts, were put on colonies without their representation and their knowledge. The freedom that the colonists were promised would be taken away from them peace by peace. One thing after another would be taken away, and that would spur the rebellious hearts of colonists. The statement that the revolutionary war was caused by the taxes that were put on colonies will be will be denied with facts. There wont be a lot on the war, but more on the causes.
