A healthy and balanced nutrition is a requirement for physical fitness. Our nutritionist together with our chef have created a well-balanced meal including all nutrients and supplements necessary to support your intense training and your weight loss. It consists of light, innovative food that makes use of the highest quality fresh, local fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry and other ingredients, all organic when possible. Enjoy the freshly prepared meals by our personal chef. Full taste with no regrets. After your stay at the DOWNHIILL retreats you will feel lighter and more energized thanks to this healthy nutrition. Alongside targeted exercise, it is a formula that encourages deep cellular cleansing and rejuvenation.

As we all know, modern lifestyles, particularly in cities, tend to drive us to consuming foods and drinks that burden our bodies. This leaves them lacking in essential nutrients, taxes their reserves and depletes vitality. Regular, sustained periods of healthy eating is a sensible antidote to this somewhat inevitable pattern. Our chef will show you with pleasure some great tips-n-tricks to cook and eat healthy at home without much effort.

The innovative programme will show results already after one week. You will return home full of energy, more muscle mass, less body fat and the motivation to keep up a healthy lifestyle. Our guests attend our retreats because they are looking for an intense, structured fitness boot camp program with days packed full of diverse outdoor fitness activities. We really challenge our guests while providing an active and healthy vacation. It is not only designed for athletes, but for people who want to change their lifes to become more fit and healthy.

To guarantee the best quality of training and coaching, the number of participants per camp is strictly limited. The programme consists of professional outdoor training, one-to-one personal training sessions, as well as yoga sessions for relaxation. Additional activities can be organized on the spot.
And remember, if you think about joining: It’s not about how you feel before you come to the bootcamp, but how you feel afterwards, which makes the big difference. You will simply feel and look amazing!

Montreux

Montreux Riviera stretches along Lake Geneva from Lutry to Villeneuve. Blessed by a Mediterranean climate, this region features historic castles, vibrant towns, lovely countryside and charming hotels – making it the ideal destination for dream holidays as well as demanding business trips.

Lavaux vineyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, is the jewel of Montreux Riviera. Its terraced vines, dating from the 12th century, make up some of the loveliest countryside in Switzerland. Its wine-growing villages offer outstanding hospitality, especially in the vintners' cellars.

The majestic panorama at Rochers-de-Naye, the peaceful Grangettes nature reserve and the fields of blooming narcissus in May number among Montreux Riviera's many natural attractions.

The region's history comes to life inside the walls of Chillon Castle, where the secrets of an eventful mediaeval past are revealed; visitors can also relive the more recent Belle Epoque era on board a CGN (Lake Geneva General Navigation Company) steamer or at one of the luxurious hotels in Montreux or Vevey.

Celebrities have always been captivated by this region's beauty. Stars flock to the Montreux Jazz Festival, whereas Chaplin preferred the tranquillity of his manor house, now converted into a museum (opens in 2016).

Montreux Jazz Festival

Montreux Jazz is the best festival of its kind in Switzerland, if not the world. Held every summer in the beautiful town of Montreux, which sits on the edge of Lake Geneva, the Montreux Jazz Festival spans two weeks and brings the best of the world’s music to one place. Here’s why you should give it a visit.

The venue

Montreux lives and breathes music. Some of the world’s greats have patronized the town; Freddie Mercury and Queen wrote and recorded the bulk of their albums here and Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke on the Water’ was inspired by fire tearing through a Frank Zappa concert here. You’ll see statues of some of the greats scattered throughout the streets. The town’s setting is also perfect, sandwiched between Lake Geneva and the surrounding Alps. If you want to escape the festival for a few days, you’ll find there’s plenty to do in Montreux.

Its pedigree

Montreux Jazz is by no accounts a second-rate festival. It started out, as you can well imagine, as a festival dedicated solely to jazz. Over the course of its 51 editions, however, the line-up has morphed, with a range of music legends such as Santana, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Deep Purple and Status Quo who have all appeared, among many more.

Its eclectic mix

Sure, there’s a whole lot of jazz going on. But each year’s line-up features a mix of rap, blues, reggae, rock and well, you get the point. There’s a little bit of everything for every taste and style. So, even if you’re not a jazz and blues aficionado, you’re almost guaranteed to find something you like. And if you don’t, you can always go for a dip in the lake.

It’s open to all

There are three paid venues at the festival: the Auditorium Stravinski, Montreux Jazz Club and the Montreux Jazz Lab. But since its founding in 1967, there have been plenty of free shows, allowing young talents to showcase their skills to a new audience. Free venues are scattered throughout the town each year so you can save a few bucks and hear something new all at once.

7 DAYS  OF ALL DELIGHTS !

RIPE FOR DISCOVERY, THE LAKE GENEVA REGION HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO RELAX, RECHARGE AND ENJOY THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE.

The Lake Geneva Region is the place to go for fine food and wines. With its six vineyards – including UNESCO-listed Lavaux – it is Switzerland’s second wine-producing region, making it the ideal destination for wine tourism holidays, with marked footpaths and wine tastings with the producers. The most widespread white grape variety, chasselas is the perfect accompaniment for local AOP cheeses, Etivaz and Vacherin Mont-d’Or, amongst other delights.

Inspired by this fine offering, the best-known chefs have set up shop in the region, which has the highest number of restaurants featured in the prestigious Michelin and Gault Millau guides in Switzerland.

Aside from the pleasures of the palate, visitors can enjoy the shopping streets in the lakeside towns and relax in the wellness centres. There are some ten luxury hotels offering spas to rest and recuperate, while the spa towns of Yverdon-les-Bains and Lavey-les-Bains offers moments of pure relaxation in the steam of their hot springs.

NATURE, WELL-BEING AND HAVING A BREAK: THE CANTON OF VAUD OFFERS ALL THAT.

STRETCHING FROM THE GENTLE SLOPES OF THE JURA TO THE MAJESTIC ALPS, THE CANTON OF VAUD IS IDEALLY LOCATED IN A LAKE SCENERY SURROUNDED BY NATURE OF AUTHENTIC CHARM. AN IDYLLIC REGION TO EXPLORE ALL THE ACTIVITIES ON OFFER AND TO COMBINE PLEASURE AND HAVING A BREAK.

Fans of soft mobility, be it on foot or by bike, can choose among 2,500 miles of marked trails leading through varied and unusual scenery. Cogwheel trains allow you to reach the summits comfortably. They offer an incomparable view on the mountains and lakes. Combining Belle-Epoque romance and historical heritage, the steam boats take their passengers out on the iridescent water of Lake Geneva.

In the summer season, the region’s main lakes provide an enchanting and privileged setting for water sports such as sailing, kite-surfing or stand-up paddling. The beaches, which are sometimes wild or urban, invite visitors to have a dip or to relax.

The canton’s exceptional landscapes with their occasional sheer rocks provide the ideal surroundings for leisure activities such as paragliding or via ferrata climbing.

Softer theme events and activities such as golf complement this unique offer.

THE GRANDE CARIÇAIE NATURE RESERVE

Running along the south shoreline of Lake Neuchâtel, the Grande Cariçaie is the biggest lakeside nature reserve in Switzerland. With wetlands, shallows and woodland areas, it’s a paradise of ecotourism for nature-lovers.

A protected site of international importance, the Grande Cariçaie is home to approximately 800 plant species and 10,000 animal species. This marshland area starts in Yverdon-les-Bains. A few minutes from the town via the local train service, the Champ-Pittet Pro Natura Centre, housed in an 18th century historical mansion, offers exhibitions, guided tours and kids’ activities, along with a restaurant serving regional and seasonal food.

Nature hikes and bike trails are both ways to discover the Grande Cariçaie at your own pace while respecting the natural environment. Follow the boardwalk into the very heart of the reserve where North-South migrating birds can be found nesting.
LAVAUX VINORAMA
At the heart of the vineyard terraces listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Lavaux Vinorama introduces you to the wines of this unique Swiss region. The highlights include over 250 different local wines you can sample and buy and a fascinating documentary.

An absolute must for all gourmet holiday enthusiasts, the Lavaux Vinorama welcomes visitors in a modern building designed to blend into its environment. In Rivaz, on Lake Geneva, this centre offers over 250 wines from the UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyards for visitors to enjoy. A selection of these wines is served at the bar or available in a modern and elegant wine dispensing system. Visitors can enjoy “wine tasting tours” and familiarise themselves with the specialities, such as Chasselas, the “cépage-roi”, or the Plant Robert, an indigenous variety.

In the ultra-modern screening room, viewers can find out all about working on the vineyard terraces through a documentary available in eight languages retracing the year of a Lavaux vine-growing family.

To top it all off, a walk through the vineyard terraces and a visit to a UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyard will make your stay an unforgettable wine experience!
LAVEY-LES-BAINS THERMAL SPA
