Kickstart, Bro What up!!! Converstion between partners
FORCE Kick Start
I have put together a business plan below that only gives insight into the
> production aspect of FORCE garments. I'm not sure how big we can start as a
> company so these are just my estimated figure and ideas.
>
> We need research into sportswear textiles and their availability in the
> African sub region. There's several different natural and man-made
> fabrics, and textiles found in sportswear garments. To be able to produce
> and compete in the sportswear industry we need to have these available in
> order to produce target designs.
>
> We need research into making our own prints and it's machinery and wether
> these can be aquired. There's been the use of allot of prints and graphic
> printing this season by the major sports brands. It is vital that FORCE is
> able to create it's own prints. This will help create unique designs and
> project the brand in that light.
>
> We need research into fabric weaving patterns and styles, knitting and the
> machinery thereof.
> Using football jerseys as an example, u notice how the different brands
> all have uniquely woven patterns, perforations for breathability etc. FORCE
> needs to explore these posibilities. Woven finishes and textiles for the
> neck, wrist, waistbands as well as sox, winter hats, wrist and head bands
> are examples of knitted apparel.
>
> We need research into where in Africa we can have customised sewing and
> finishing accessories made. Zippers, buttons , studs, all types of labels
> etc are accessories that need to have FORCE label/logo on them.
>

>
> MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT
>
> Mininum machinery requirements to start off production:
>
> 1. Digital embroidery machines
> 2. Rubber print/ heat print machines
> 3. Button holes machines
> 4. Overlocking machines
> 5. Dieffrent types of stitching/finishing machines
>
> STAFF AND FACTORY SPACE
>
> I'm willing and able to help build/assemble the design and production team
> and setups and i think FORCE can have its initial African headquarters here
> in Accra, Ghana. Its important to consider the social, economic and
> political environment before taking this decision in Africa. Also is the
> proximity of raw materials needed for production. The debate needs to be
> had but i consider Ghana a good candidate.
>
> 1. Design team of 3 including myself.
> a. Assitant designer
> b. Graphic designer
>
> 2. General / production manager
> 3. Assistant production manager/ Quality controll

> responsible for marketing on the whole.
>
> Currently i work on average 60 hours a week.
> I am willing to dedicate 60% of this to FORCE.
> Considering this is a start up and will demand allot of time, travelling
> for recon / research etc, im willing to distribute the time whenever
> needed. I would like to be paid USD 4000 per month, plus 1% of profits.
> Im currently working with an associate to render my designs. He charges
> usd800 for the initial collection. Im also asking the help of a graphic
> designer for his input for only 2 designs. These guys dont need to be full
> time employees at the moment, needed in house later on.
> We are currently putting together a visuall collection of 25 pieces
> packaged as a presentation. I estimate that we should finish by end of
> september, latest 6th october.
>
> I need you to give me a contract that we should both sign in exchange for
> this collection.
> Please include the following in the contract:
>
> " In case should the project fail to take off or be abandoned, you will pay
> me USD4000 to cover the cost of initial collection.
> In the the above mentioned case-that the project is abandoned- my
> intellectual property will not be used without my consent in any shape or
> form."
>
> Bro, im very much looking forward to making this dream a reality, not just
> for the excitement as a designer but the difference ut can make in peoples
> lives and the industry in Africa as a whole!
